Staff Report
Five specialised trade shows - FoodAsia, Bakery&Pastry, HotelAsia, HospitalityStyleAsia and HospitalityTechnology - each distinctively tailored to provide industry professionals with direct access to latest products, services and technological solutions, are gearing up to present an even stronger line-up of exhibitors from April 17 to 20, 2012 at the Singapore Expo.
With an expansion of its exhibition area to an impressive 85,000 square metres spanning across nine halls, the five specialised shows are undoubtedly the largest and most comprehensive instalment yet.
More than 2,600 exhibitors from 65 countries/regions and 46 international group pavilions will be gathered at one convenient location to receive over 54,000 government, business and trade attendees hailing from over 90 countries/regions.
“FHA2012 has and will continue to serve as a key platform for members of the Singapore Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers and Supplies (SAFEMS),” says CK Cheong, chairman of SAFEMS. “This epic industry event will feature international trade players showcasing their latest products and services all in one convenient location, providing fertile grounds for commercial growth and partnerships, and fulfilling another important aim of SAFEMS. Previous FHA shows have provided our SAFEMS members with unrivalled exposure, enabling us to gain a strong foothold and presence in the regional market.”
World-class competitions
Adding on to the vibrant marketplace would be a series of competitions where culinary chefs, pastry masters and baristas vie for the title of Asia’s best. World-class competing events, including the FHA2012 Culinary Challenge – Asia’s renowned platform for established and emerging culinary talents to gain worldwide recognition; FHA2012 Imperial Challenge – held once every four years to reveal highest levels of Chinese banqueting techniques and artistry; the third edition of Asia Barista Championship – a premier stage which seeks to boost baristas as a professional career and cultivate Asian appreciation of specialty coffee; and the Asian Pastry Cup – the official pre-selection platform to the World Pastry Cup held in Lyon, France.
Judged by influential connoisseurs in the industry, these highly accredited competitions also serve as an avenue for professionals to gain knowledge, learn new skills and promote their talent to the industry.
“FHA is undoubtedly a hallmark tradeshow for the hospitality industry. Its comprehensive coverage, which includes specialised events and industry conferences, not only offers an excellent platform for networking but it is also the place to be for the latest hospitality technology and design. Furthermore, FHA continues to excite its visitors with a host of world-class competitions whereby participants can showcase their skills and creativity to a wide audience. As such, the FHA is definitely a show that hoteliers look forward to with great enthusiasm.” says Margaret Heng, executive director of Singapore Hotel Association.
